Are you reading past your bedtime?

What are you reading?
Do you love reading so much that you read past your bedtime? I do, and I want to know what you're reading, then Blog all about the book!
(don't be a book spoiler though!) Do you recommend it to other teens? Come on, dish!

I started the new Rick Riordan book that came out today. I love the Percy Jackson series, it's full of action, adventure and even a bit of romance!

Rick Riordan rocks writing books! He uses amazing imagery, and writes so descriptively that I can't help but read WAY past my bedtime! I think all of you should read his novels, you won't regret it!

The Art of Study Notecards

There is an art to creating a Science Study Notecard in Mrs.Pitotti's Life Science Class. The challenge is to take a great amount of information and organize it onto a small 3x5 card for use on a test. The students in Room R12 are getinning pretty good at it, here are some awesome examples of functional study cards with an artistic flare.

Along with definitions, you can choose to re-create diagrams on the back side of your card to help with labeling. Some students create their own diagrams while others copy and shrink the actual diagrams in the text. Either way, having clearly labeled examples of the diagrams needed are a huge help during exam time!

Vocabulary Words and key concepts make up the other side of the notecard. To be complete, you should try to fit all of the chapter vocabulary terms and definitions on the card. If you have to write small, feel free to bring a magnifying glass to help you read what you've written! (Many students do, and have great success!) Using the last of your space to include key terms and concepts will ensure that you have done all you can to give your best on a Science Exam.

Amazing Notecards are Up To You!

Next time we have a Chapter Test in Science, take the challenge to create the most amazing Study card you can! Remember, you will always get an outline of all the concepts covered, but the actual making of the card is up to you!

 YOUR SCORE WILL IMPROVE
WITH THE EFFORT YOU PUT FORTH

Take the time to create your Study card for the next exam, and remember if you give 100% of your best the first time, without complaint, YOU WILL ALWAYS IMPROVE!
(and Mrs. Pitotti will be MORE than THRILLED!)
