The Art of Study Notecards!

There is an art to creating a Science Study Notecard in Mrs.Pitotti's Life Science Class. The challenge is to take a great amount of information and organize it onto a small 3x5 card for use on a test. The students in Room 403 are going to get pretty good at it, here are some awesome examples of functional study cards with an artistic flare.

Along with definitions, you can choose to re-create diagrams on the back side of your card to help with labeling. Some students create their own diagrams while others copy and shrink the actual diagrams in the text. Either way, having clearly labeled examples of the diagrams needed are a huge help during exam time!

Vocabulary Words and key concepts make up the other side of the notecard. To be complete, you should try to fit all of the chapter vocabulary terms and definitions on the card. If you have to write small, feel free to bring a magnifying glass to help you read what you've written! (Many students do, and have great success!) Using the last of your space to include key terms and concepts will ensure that you have done all you can to give your best on a Science Exam.

Amazing Notecards are Up To You!

This Friday we have a Chapter Test in Science, take the challenge to create the most amazing Study card you can! Remember, you will always get an outline of all the concepts covered, but the actual making of the card is up to you!

 YOUR SCORE WILL IMPROVE
WITH THE EFFORT YOU PUT FORTH

Take the time to create your Study card for this exam, and remember if you give 100% of your best the first time, without complaint, YOU WILL ALWAYS IMPROVE!
(and Mrs. Pitotti will be MORE than THRILLED!)

                    Growth vs Fixed Mindset

What kind of mindset do you have? In the second week of school we will study this video and you will have to decide where you fit. Will you be challenged by setbacks and ready to learn, or have you decided you have your limits already set for you? Watch and see- 100% participation is the goal!

My Genetics Project Due January 28

Here are some examples of projects to look at if you need help!

The best comparison is with you and your relative in the 7th Grade (same age)! Student Picture on LEFT, relative on the right.

The second option is Same Age but at a younger age.

Third Option: Compare Student at 7th grade and relative now.

Make sure the requested information on the back is neat, and complete. Students have the rubric to refer to on expectations.

Front of the Folder should be AMAZING!!!
